Full Day Kindergarten:

Parents wanting full day kindergarten have the option of enrolling their Kindergarten children in our kindergarten enrichment program that runs from 11:30 to 3:30 Monday through Thursday and until 1:30 on Fridays. This tuition-based program adds to the half day program paid for by the state. Much like the preschool, our homelike kindergarten provides learning opportunities that are play-based, including nature walks to explore our surroundings, painting and storytelling, nutritious meals made fresh each day, and practical activities that provide a foundation for healthy bodies, minds and hearts. Waldorf kindergartens provide toys and equipment made of natural materials to further the imagination of the child, so they have the potential to become tomorrow’s thinkers and problem solvers. Children learn fairy tales and retell them through acting them out and listening—building vocabulary and learning skills. Our trained teachers help children to develop their fine and gross motor skills to prepare them for the grades. Kindergarten Enrichment provides a time for lunch, rest and afternoon activities.

Before & After School Care Programs:
For the convenience of our working parents, MPCS provides Before School Care  from 7:00 to 8:00 each morning. A light breakfast is provided, if requested. At 8:00, playground supervision begins and children are dismissed to the care of our morning playground monitors.
After School Care is led by our Coordinator who has experience in adventure programs, games teaching and academics. Homework support is also provided for students staying late. This program runs from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Summer Programs:
During the summer months, MPCS provides programs for the enjoyment of children ages 4 to 14. Programs include a wide variety of experiences for children on summer break. Some include adventure and expeditionary learning, cooking and baking, field trips, swimming and sports, environmental learning, science and problems solving classes, and tutoring in basic skills. Periodic camping trips are also planned for summer fun and learning.

Middle School Electives:
Electives are available for middle school students each trimester. Selections of both artistic, experiential and academic choices are available during each section. See Middle School Curriculum to read more about these options.

MPCS is an asbestos-free school. Copies of our Asbestos Management Plan are located in both the main and middle school offices for public viewing.
