We encourage all families and friends together throughout the year
to celebrate the seasons and many other special occasions!

Festivals & Celebrations

Mountain Phoenix Community School hosts a great many festivals and celebrations throughout the year which mark the passage of seasons and holidays, developmental milestones, and significant historical moments. A sampling of events open to the whole community includes:

Opening Day, Rose Ceremony

The entire school community gathers in the back yard to celebrate the start of a new year! Second graders welcome our new first graders as they begin their journey through the grades.  Parents are always welcome to join us, to greet old friends and welcome new families.

Harvest Festival

Our annual Harvest Festival celebrates harvest, human courage, and the triumph of light over darkness. Along with activities for children, live performances, food and crafts, the sixth grade turns to entertaining the crowd to tell the story of St. George and the Dragon.  The beast is created in secrecy over many weeks, to emerge and challenge the assembled crowd. Two members of the class are chosen to portray Michael and St. George; endowed with heavenly strength and light, Michael and St. George subdue the mighty dragon for the good of all.

Winter Performance

Held in mid-December, the Winter Concert showcases our talented students from third through eighth grades. Dressed in black & white, children perform songs, instrumental pieces and skits. This event encourages families to celebrate the season together and enjoy the extraordinary talents of our students.

This is just a sampling of what’s to come!
