Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Job Description
The Early Childhood Department at Mountain Phoenix Community School is seeking to hire a full-time Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to start January 8th, 2018.
Mountain Phoenix is a Pre-K – 8th grade Public Charter school and a member of the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education. We have a robust Early Childhood Education program that serves about 150 children between the ages of 2 ½ – 7. Mountain Phoenix is just west of Denver and up against the front range of the Colorado Rockies.
Expectations, Skills and Responsibilities
We are looking for a gentle and loving individual to assist the lead teacher in all aspects of our day-to-day rhythms. Preference will be given to applicants that have an understanding of Waldorf education practices and philosophy. Must be ECT (Early Childhood Teacher) qualified by the State of Colorado, or willing to become qualified in the first year (2 college-level ECE classes). The ideal candidate will also:
● Have an interest and understanding of Waldorf education philosophy
● Demonstrate warmth, compassion and clarity in working with both children and adults
● Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
● Observe and care for our children’s physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual development and well-being
● Be on time and happy to be here
This schedule follows a regular school schedule with some additional days of in-service time. Our hourly rate starts at $13.75 and we offer benefits to full time employees.
