Understanding the new CMAS/PARCC Assessments and Results
For the 2014-15 school year, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) began implementing new state tests called the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS). The CMAS science and social studies tests were developed in Colorado. The CMAS English language arts (ELA) and math tests were developed in collaboration with a consortium of states known as PARCC (the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career). Colorado students took the CMAS ELA and math tests for the first time in spring 2015. School-level results are available and your child’s results were sent home in mid-January. State-level results have already been released and can be found here.
